Carmen A. Brown

Vice President of Enrollment Management

Carmen A. Brown is serving as Vice President for Enrollment Management. She began her duties at UNM this summer.

Brown has spent the majority of her professional life working in higher education. Her passion for enrollment management has led her to establish a variety of very successful business practices that allowed the institutions and organizations that she worked for to flourish. She is an advocate of higher education opportunities for all students and a firm believer in exemplary customer service.

Her commitment to students and individuals’ rights has paved the way for several gubernatorial appointments, which include the One Florida Commission, appointed by Governor Bush, the Florida Teachers Minority Fund Commission, and the Blue Ribbon Commission on Access and Diversity. Additionally, due to her commitment for building a stronger judicial system late Florida Governor Chiles appointed her to the Judicial Nominating Commission. Since her appointment, she has devoted countless hours to the Florida Bar by serving in a variety of committees including the statewide Marketing Grievance Committee.

Brown’s peers have recognized her expertise and leadership. She has held several leadership positions in the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the College Board, where her expertise in international education and recruitment led to an appointment to the very prestigious TOEFL board.

Carmen A. Brown is also a founding member of Florida International University, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
