Gilbert Gonzales

Chief Information Officer

Gilbert Gonzales is serving as UNM’s chief information officer, which leads integration of information technology functions across the UNM campus. He began August 18, 2008.

Gonzales was previously the CIO at California State University, Monterey Bay, since 2002. Prior to that he served as the director of content and market development at the startup company, GoCampus. He also served in administrative positions in the areas of information/technologies management, library management and academic support for 12 years with the Maricopa Community College District.

Gonzales holds a doctorate in history from Arizona State University, a master’s in library science from the University of Arizona, and a bachelor’s in education from Arizona State University.
