Overall Cost Containment Objectives:

• Reduce I&G spending by $15m (look for increased efficiencies, elimination of lower priority activities, and moving of expenses from I&G funds to other funds).
• Identify strategies and tactics (achieve cost reductions and long term efficiencies in operations)
• Suggest priorities for reallocation, including university-wide improvements in areas where operations can be centralized, and in the academic units.
• Create source of funds for innovative investment and moderate tuition increases (critical component of budgetary planning).
