STAIF-2008 Call for Papers

The Call for Papers for 2008 has just been extended until July 13. We invite authors from government, the aero-space industry, institutes of higher learning, and other entities doing research in the technical areas served by the six individual conferences under the STAIF umbrella, to submit papers for the annual book of proceed-ings, edited by Technical and Publications Chair, Mohamed S. El-Genk.

These proceedings will be published in both CD-ROM and hardbound format by the American Institute of Physics (AIP).

How Do I Submit My Full Draft Paper or Abstract to STAIF-2008?

Abstracts

Submission to the STAIF-2008 proceedings begins with the completion of an Initial Abstract Submission Form. Once authors have read the call for papers, or know the session to which they wished to submit an abstract, they are invited to go directly to this form. If you are interested in bypassing this process and submitting a full draft paper, please contact us at (505) 277-0446 before submission.

Full Draft Papers

We do not have the ability to upload your full draft paper through this website at this time. Authors who are ready to submit their full draft papers for consideration by STAIF's technical editors should email their submissions as an attachment in MS Word format to isnps@unm.edu. Before emailing your paper to ISNPS, please be certain to double check that your format conforms to AIP/STAIF style guidelines (see the next topic below for more information). Please note: PDF files are permitted, though not encouraged, as an alternative to MS Word .docs.

How Do I Prepare My Manuscript for the STAIF-2008 Proceedings?

STAIF's Manuscript Preparation Page provides many of the resources necessary to meet the requirements for publication in the proceedings. Before you submit your initial draft to the editors, we urge you to visit this area to review the current style guide, plus necessary forms and helpful templates.

STAIF-2008 Registration for Authors and Presenters

As mentioned above, one of the requirements for publication in the proceedings book is registration at STAIF-2008. A minimum of one author is required to register for STAIF and present each paper at conference. The lead author is encouraged to present, but in the event that this is not possible, a co-author may present in the lead author's place. Regardless of who makes the presentation, that person must be registered for the conference.

All registered participants, whether they are able to attend STAIF or not, are entitled to a copy of the proceedings on CD-ROM. Payment of the registration fee also entitles the registrant to an abstract book, admission to all exhibits, technical sessions and coffee breaks, plus one ticket to the awards banquet, scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

Registration forms will be available this fall on the Forms and Guides page. Though the registration fee has not yet been established for STAIF-2008, it is among the best values in the field. We offer three different rates, full, one-day, and student, as well as discounts for early registration.

In order to provide the published proceedings to STAIF attendees in time for the conference, planning and editing of the proceedings book begins months in advance.
