Holiday Open House at the Maxwell
On Friday, December 2, 2011 from 4 to 6:30 pm. the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology will host a Holiday Open House featuring the latest in interactive technology and handmade cultural items.  All exhibit areas will be open and refreshments will be served. The Maxwell Holiday open house is free and all are welcome.
Bring your smart devices! 
The Maxwell will preview its interactive touch table and “Heist!” a fun new application that allows visitors to collect images and information on a smart device (such as a cell phone, iPad, iTouch, Android device). On display exclusively for the open house will be unique Mayan objects and photographs including hand tinted lantern slides depicting Mayan villages, circa 1927 – 1942, from the Fay Cooper Cole collection. The interactive technology is part of a project called Open Exhibits funded by the National Science Foundation and developed by Ideum, a multi-media company in Corrales, NM.

The Maxwell Museum Store will open for the evening in support of Hanging of the Greens.  Follow the luminarias to the Maxwell and find affordable, unique gifts that support local artists, fairly-trade crafts, and the Museum’s educational mission.
