Primary initiatives
1. Annual meeting with Presidents and Administrators of Latin American Universities: Every year, during the month of April, a three-day seminar is held with the purpose disseminating information about the different academic and research programs UNM offers. Also, information about scholarships for students, professors, and researchers is given. A highlight of these seminars is the signing of collaboration agreements that formalize institutional cooperation. The purpose is to bring to the table initiatives and activities that will bring us closer to Latin American institutions.
2. Diplomados, Seminars and/or Workshops for Professionals SOLAI offers this type of short-term programs --one-week long, with 20 hours of classroom instruction and extracurricular activities-- for leaders of public policy, government, and high level management within government that help them be up-to-date in topics of relevance to their professions. The diplomados have topics such as: a) New institutionally and leadership; b) Strategic Administration and Public Policy; c) Social Studies for Latin America; d) US Government and Political System; e) Mentoring for Administrators of Public Institutions—in collaboration with the UNM Mentoring Institute; and f) Government Innovation.
3. Online Spanish Master’s Programs SOLAI, in collaboration with UNM academic departments, is designing hybrid “on-site and on-line” graduate programs in Spanish.
