The prints I made at Tamarind are something in between my paintings and drawings. They are irregularly shaped paper cutouts inspired by the ednsity and surpise of urban space in New York City. I think of them as walking maps, suggestive of routes like that from the East Village to Chelsea and Chinatown, or from the Upper West Side to Soho and Coney Island. They are about how shapes and colors interact and move within abstract forms. These are the first lithographs I've made and I loved working with Lee Turner and Bill Lagattuta.
