Program Description

The job skills certificate (JSC) program was developed in conjunction with the Su Parte (Sign Up! People Acting Responsibly Through Employment) welfare reform program. However, it is available to all students who need to “hone up” on basic writing, reading, computing, mathematics skills, basic interpersonal communication skills, and job finding strategy skills.

Career and Educational Advancement Opportunities

Students enrolled in the JSC program can take workplace specific courses, such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the general “Job Skills” umbrella.

Program Requirements

Total credit hours required: 24 (6 hours of writing, 3-4 hours of mathematics, 4 hours of reading and study skills or computer literacy, 6 hours of interpersonal and job search skills and 9 hours of specific job skills, e.g., CNA).
