West Channel Sand Bar Relocation February 6~7
Current Opened Gate: #1, #2, #3 (half), and #20.
On 6-Feb-07, the gates
remained in the same opening configuration since last Friday (2-Feb): #1~#3 and
#20 lowered.
The upstream water depth is
maintained 3.1 ft on the PLC screen.
Gate #3 was down halfway on
7-Feb-07 for maintaining design water depth 3 ft (water depth was slightly
decreased 2.95 ft this morning) (figure 1).
Measured water levels were
4995.29 ft upstream and 4993.42 ft downstream.

At the middle of the
channel, sand bars were still existed (figure 2). However, most of sand bars at the west side
of the channel have been relocated (figure 3).
West bank erosion was not in
progress (figure 4). No specific change
was found in the fish passage flow (figure 5).
