Middle Channel Sand Bar Relocation February 8~9

Current Opened Gate: #1, #2, #3 and #18.

Gates #1, #2, #3 and #18 have remained open since 8-Feb-07 to flush sand bars located in middle channel (figures1 and 2).

The upstream water depth is maintained 3 ft on the PLC screen. By the way, water depth was maintained 4.31 ft for several hours on 8-Feb to flush sediment along the fish passage (figure 3, taken on 9-Feb).

Water levels 4995.46 ft upstream and 4993.5 ft downstream were measured on 9-Feb.

Most sand bars on the middle of the channel were washed away (figure 4).

Eroded west bank was recovered this morning (9-Feb) (figures 4 and 5).
