Amateur Astronomy

Welcome to the home page Thomas Williamson's Amateur Astronomy. The purpose of this site is to showcase my amateur astronomy projects. This includes high-resolution imaging of the Sun, Moon and Planets with a backyard telescope.

Introduction Equipment Imaging

The Solar System as imaged with a 203 mm f/7 newtonian telescope. The Sun, Moon, and planets (all but Pluto) were imaged using a Philips ToUcam Pro 740K webcam. These are not reproduced to scale but are close to relative apparent diameters as seen from Earth.
