Distinguished Professor Lecture/Performance Series

This is the first Distinguished Professors Lecture/Performance Series event of the year.  It has the additional distinction of celebrating the seven newest Distinguished Professors at the University of New Mexico.

We would like to invite you to the upcoming musical concert by Philippe Quint and Pamela Pyle, which will be held at Keller Hall on September 6, beginning at 5:15 PM. Philippe Quint and Pamela Pyle will be playing selections from Brahms, Piazzolla, Sarasate, Tchaikovsky, and more.  Further information can be found here. Pamela Viktoria Pyle

Pamela Viktoria Pyle has been recognized for her interpretations of the chamber music literature since she was first engaged as a principal pianist in the studios of Dorothy DeLay and then Itzhak Perlman at The Juilliard School.  This immersion in the piano and string repertoires led to collaborations with members of the Juilliard, American, Ying and Mendelssohn Quartets. As an award-winning soloist and chamber recitalist, Ms. Pyle has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Brazil. Recent engagements include concerts and a guest faculty position at the University of Shandong in Wei-Hai, China, and performances and masterclasses in Brazil at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Ms. Pyle is currently Professor of Piano and Collaborative Piano at the University of New Mexico. Ms. Pyle’s media recordings include CDs on the Albany and Prairie labels and numerous broadcasts, including programs on CBS Sunday Morning, the Charlie Rose Show, CNN, the Martha Stewart Show, National Public Radio, WGBH Boston, WNYC & WQXR New York, and a PBS special on Itzhak Perlman. An Award Winning violinist Philippe Quint is a multi-faceted artist whose wide range of interests has led to several Grammy Nominations for his albums, performances with major orchestras throughout the world at venues that range from Gewandhaus in Leipzig to Carnegie Hall in New York, leading role in a major independent picture “Downtown Express” and explorations of Tango with his Band The Quint Quintet. His live performances and interviews have been broadcast on CBS, CNN, ABC, BBC World News, NBC, Reuters, Bloomberg TV- " Night Talk with Mike Schneider" and "Muse" as well as multiple appearances on NPR, WNYC and WQXR. Philippe Quint plays on a magnificent 1708 "Ruby" Antonio Stradivari violin on loan to him through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society® of Chicago.
