At Agora, we welcome anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer. You must be at least 18 years old, though. If you would like to volunteer, please read the "Volunteer Committment Agreement " below before filling out an application .
If you agree to the Volunteer Committment Agreement, then fill out the online application and click "submit". Once we receive your application, someone will email and/or call you to set up an interview. Please be aware that all applications are subject to the approval of our Professional Director and Staff, and that we can only accept a limited number of applications per training. Our next training sessions will be held June 2-5, 2008 (depending on the number of interested applicants). Fall 2008 training will be held September 20, 27, October 4 and 11th. |

Volunteer Committment Agreement
Training:
- I will attend four (4) consecutive Saturday trainings and three (3) consecutive training shifts (one during each week following the Saturday trainings)
- I will attend additional training and role-play sessions as required by the Agora staff
- I will attend supplementary training programs and/or view recommended videotapes as long as I am an active volunteer.
Regular Participation:

After completing training, I will maintain a weekly, four (4)-hour shift for at least 220 hours

I will participate in an Agora support activity as a committee member, board member or other mutually agreed activity

When I leave Agora, I will formally notify staff or the professional director in writing
Confidentiality:

I will keep all caller information, treatment, sessions and any other private information regarding callers confidential

I will not disclose any of this information to anyone outside of Agora and will only discuss pertinent information as required with Agora staff
