Information on Albuquerque and New Mexico
The city of Albuquerque, or Duke City, is one of America's oldest and well-known cities. In the past few years it has garnered national recognition as one of America's top cities in many categories (including best city to start a business, America's fittest city for outdoor/indoor activities, a top city to live in, one of the best real estate markets, etc.). It is situated beautifully between the Sandia Mountains on the East and the Rio Grande River/Valley on the West.
The State of New Mexico is also called the Land of Enchantment because of the rich cultural diversity within the state. Some of the oldest settlements in the USA by the Spaniards happened here. The city of Santa Fe (50 minutes north of Albuquerque), the State's Capital, is one of the top tourist destinations in the country and the second art city in the United States behind New York City.
