Schedule of Budget Events
Spring 2009
If you missed the budget process last year, then maybe you should apply for funds through the Spring Budget Process (see below). If you are just looking for travel money, then you might want to consider applying for an appropriation (see below). SPRING BUDGET PROCESS (ASUNM Lawbook, Budget Code):
Article I, Section 1: THe purpose of the ASUNM SPring and Fall Budget Processes are to endeavor to meet the financial needs of chartered student organizations, service entities and governmental offices at the University of New Mexico.
Article I, Section 2: Each process perforams a seperate function in the types of funding that are addressed. The guidelines are as follows:
A. Spring Budget Process will attempt to provide for the basic operating expenses of groups for the upcoming fiscal year.
Article II, Section 3.D: All groups requestiong funding must attend at least one (1) of the mandatory workshops. Attendance will be verified via signature of the authorized representative(s) attending the workshop. Failure to do so will result if a penalty.
SPRING WORKSHOP DATES:
• Monday, January 26th, 3:00pm – 4:00pm, Acoma A & B (SUB Upper Level)
• Wednesday, January 28th, 11:00am – 12:00pm, Trail Spirit (SUB Upper Level)
• Thursday, January 29th, 12:00pm – 1:00pm, Acoma A & B (SUB Upper Level)
• Wednesday, February 4th, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, Santa Ana A & B (SUB Upper Level)
• Thursday, February, 5th, 3:00pm – 4:00pm, Acoma A & B (SUB Upper Level)
Budget Packets (distributed at the workshops) are due by 5:00pm on Wednesday, February 11th, 2009. Budget Hearing Dates will be presented at the workshops. Budget Hearing Schedule will be available by 12:00pm (Noon) on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009.

Appropriation Bill Funding Request Form
(ASUNM Lawbook, Finance Code):
Article III, Section 2: Appropriation bills shall only be used towards unforeseen one-time expenditures, one-time capital outlays, or travel.
Article III, Section 3: Only chartered student organizations, ASUNM government, ASUNM Executive Agencies and service entities may receive appropriation bills. They can receive funding through an appropriation bill only once per semester.
*Each group is responsible for checking it's assigned hearing time and date. This information will not be sent individually to the groups.

When applying for an appropriation, it is best to determine when you need the money by. Use the "Earliest Funding Available" column to determine the earliest funding date, then look at the correlating "Deadline for Submission" column to determine the absolute latest you can submit an appropriation to meet your deadline.
