National Transportation Modeling and Analysis Program (NATMAP) - New Mexico

Contact:  ATRI

The objective of this research project is to implement in New Mexico the first educational version of the TRANSIMS training application of the National Transportation Modeling and Analysis Program (NATMAP)—to develop a tool to better utilize NATMAP/TRANSIMS for New Mexico users.  The project will entail communicating the present NATMAP and TRANSIMS capabilities to New Mexico Transportation leadership, preparing training materials for the NATMAP/TRANSIMS education version, and preparing a preliminary process for how a training application in New Mexico could be extended to advance state and local government transportation capabilities.  NATMAP/TRANSIMS is a software simulation tool that is inherently multimodel that reflects current and potential characteristics of transportation systems, with social and environmental impacts.
