Transportation Resource Exchange Center

A major center housed at the ATRI is the Transportation Resource Exchange Center  (T-REX). The T-REX is a single-point source for information on the transportation of radioactive materials (RAM). The T-REX continues to build a virtual library to improve the management and dissemination of radioactive materials transportation information. The research staff incorporates documents and other information from the U. S. Department of Energy, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and other sources.  They provide technical assistance to the general public, environmentalists, and academic researchers. The Web pages provide links to hundreds of documents, databases, news, and contacts. One product is The TRAM (Transportation of Radioactive Materials), a Web-accessible, searchable database that contains information about stakeholder groups and individuals who have a particular expertise or interest in RAM transport. Other projects include a searchable index of over 3,000 documents in T-REXDEX and a series of annotated bibliographies.

T-REX Web Pages

Subjects (trex-center.org/facets.asp
The transportation of radioactive material is a complex process. T-REX has broken this process into smaller subject categories. The Subjects overview page describes the information found on each specific subject page. Direct links to these pages are found in the footer area of each T-REX web page.

Reference Desk (trex-center.org/reference.asp)
The Reference Desk links the user to the T-REX pages that contain reference sources such as DOE Databases, DOE Public Reading Rooms and Libraries, DOE and other pertinent Online Serials, Glossaries, and Fact Sheets.

T-REXDEX (trex-center.org/dexsearch.asp)
The Transportation Resource Exchange Center Index (T-REXDEX) is the searchable database of over 3,000 online documents in the T-REX Virtual Library.
