| 5 June | Depart for Los Angeles, CA to Brisbane, QLD. |
| 7-9 June | Arrive Brisbane and travel to Lamington National Park. Tour the Subtropical rainforest, lectures on plants and animals of the region. |
| 10 June | Return to Brisbane, visit botanical gardens. |
| 11-15 June | Fly to Darwin. Visit Kakadu National Park and Northern Territory Wildlife Park. |
| 16 June | Fly to Cairns and visit Atherton Table Lands. Study biodiversity assessment techniques. |
| 21 June-3 July | Research on Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef. |
| 4 July | Depart Lizard Island and return to Cairns, program closing activities. |
| 5 July | Program ends early morning, depart Cairns for Sydney and Los Angeles. |
| Late August | Symposium. Students will meet at the University Honors Department and via video conference to present results of their work to members of the UNM community. |
