'Waterborne
Dis/ease' is a vast and ongoing series of international projects
focusing on the pathogens and pollutants that find their way into our
water systems, causing devastation. The statistics are staggering. Every
eight seconds, somewhere around the world, a child dies from a water-related
disease.
Vibrio
cholerae, Shigella, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Acinetobacter baumanii,
Adenoviruses, Schistosoma, and Entamoeba histoltica are a few of the tongue-twistingly
named water-borne infections which will eventually find their way onto
a scroll, their beautiful, colorful images belying their deadly nature.
Other
are work not shown here includes project done in Venice, Italy on the
canals, and a month-long residency in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada.
