The U.S. Census Bureau prepares population estimates for states and counties between the decennial census years. Listed below are links to detailed Excel files of demographic characteristics. BBER formatted these tables from data released by the Census Bureau in August 2007 as part of the 2006 round of population estimates. This round includes new estimates for 2006, along with revisions for 2000 through 2005.
In the detailed Excel files there are three data sets: total population by age, sex and race; the Hispanic population by age, sex and race; and the non-Hispanic population by age, sex and race. Each Excel file has 35 worksheets: one sheet for New Mexico as a whole; one sheet for each of the 33 counties; and a sheet of notes. The Excel files open on the New Mexico worksheet. The first three or four letters of a county name are used to identify each county worksheet. These tables will be revised in 2008 when new data are released.
Below the links to these detailed Excel files are links to summary demographic characteristics. These Excel files contain summary characteristics formatted by the Census Bureau from the same release of population estimates.
