1/ Percent changes are based on unrounded numbers.

2/ For owner-occupied housing units the data for "specified" units
excludes mobile homes, houses with a business or medical office,
houses on 10 or more acres and housing units in multi-unit buildings.
For renter-occupied units "specified" units exclude one-family houses
     on 10 or more acres.

3/ Contract rent is the monthly rent agreed to or contracted for, regardless
of any furnishings, utilities, fees, meals of services that may be included.

4/ Questions about the type of building (e.g., mobile home or trailer,
one-family house detached from any other house, etc.) in which the
respondent lived were asked in both the 1980 and 1990 censuses.
However, in the 1980 census this question appeared only on the sample
questionnaire, while in 1990 it was asked on a 100% basis. Additionally,
the figures in the residual "Other" category were not comparable between
     the 1980 and 1990 censuses.

5/ This residual category was actually referred to as "Boat, tent, van, etc."
in the 1980 census. The category was changed to "Other" in the 1990 census.
In some areas, the proportion of units classified as "Other" in 1990 was
far larger than the number of units that were classified as "Boat, tent,
van, etc." in 1980. Since the figures are not comparable, percent changes
between 1980 and 1990 are not calculated in the population and housing
     summary tables.
