UNM's Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) is funded by New Mexico MainStreet (NMMS), a program of the Economic Development Department, to provide community economic assessments for the state's MainStreet communities. The purpose of this program is to provide these communities with information and analysis to guide economic development in their core downtown areas. The assessments include information on demographics, employment patterns, gross receipts and pull factors, MainStreet district business and employment composition, and regional and local trade area analysis.
To date, BBER has completed analyses for 20 communities. Reports will be posted as they are finalized. For more information on this program please contact BBER at (505) 277-2216 or send e-mail to dbinfo@unm.edu. For more information on the New Mexico MainStreet program, see http://nmmainstreet.org/.
