The Digital Media Internship is awarded biannually to a student pursuing graduate studies at the University of New Mexico preferably in the College of Fine Arts. The student must be enrolled, in good standing and in residence at the Albuquerque campus of the University of New Mexico.

Duties and responsibilities: The Intern will complete a digital media project to be determined by the Bunting Visual Resources Library. Projects may include:

   • developing and  maintaining web accessible image reviews for College of 
     Fine Arts courses,
   • building, researching or documenting digital image collections,
   • developing user guides and manuals for the use of image review software,
   • collaborating with UNM's New Media Group and /or the General Library's 
     Electronic Reserves Group to develop database interfaces to deliver 
     images and data to the web.

The intern is expected to work ten hours per week during the Spring and/or Fall semester. All work must be conducted during regular library hours.

Stipend: The terms of the award will be $2,750.00 plus tuition remission and insurance benefits for the semester.

Eligibility: Selection criteria for the Digital Media Internship are:

   • academic preparation and knowledge in the history or practice of the arts 
     as related to the degree programs of the College of Fine Arts
   • previous experience in the operation and management of PC workstations 
     running Windows 2000 and Microsoft Access database applications
   • interest in or previous experience in digital imaging with emphasis on 
     scanning, Adobe Photoshop, HTML, and basic web site graphic design
   • two recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant's  
     academic and/or work experience
   • legal authorization to work in the U.S.A.
