Uniting all of my work is a deep interest in studying rhetorical invention as boundary-zone activity, and in a way that empowers students to take agency in shaping teaching and learning.

My principal teaching objective is to help students amplify and attune their existing rhetorical awareness to new composing situations and technologies through reflective, inclusive, and collaborative teaching and learning practices.

I've come to believe that like rhetoric, administrative and organizational leadership is part science and part practical wisdom—the latter requiring an ecological mindset pragmatically attuned to the strengths, values, and expectations of our communities and students, colleagues and institutions.
