Not too many mollusks to hunt for here in the Desert Southwest. I picked up the hobby visiting my grandparents and later living in Florida. Although I have a general collection, I now specialize in cones, wentletraps, and Linnaean species, with minor concentrations in the neritids, melampids (=ellobiids), and strombids. I am trying to avoid getting hooked on volutes and murexes (literally!).

I haven't found any Web sites devoted exclusively to wentletraps yet. I am currently working on The Book on wentletraps with Art Weil and Leonard Brown. In the interim, I have published a "Master Index to Species Names in the Family Epitoniidae" [Caution: pdf file is 352KB] and a "Bibliography of the Family Epitoniidae" [pdf file is 115KB].
