About the Club
The Brazil Club of the University of New Mexico was founded in November of 2002 by a group of students involved in the Portuguese program at the University. The Club was formed to offer an interactive and educational resource on campus to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Brazilian culture and the Portuguese language. The Club holds weekly bate-papos (chats) so that the students of Portuguese interact with the Portuguese-speaking community in Albuquerque in an informal environment. In addition, the Club organizes Brazilian cultural events periodically. The officers are pleased to collaborate to support Brazilian culture in New Mexico.
