Chicano Studies Minor
24 Hours Minimum Requirement
Minor Checklist
- Chicano Studies Course Requirements (6 hours):
- C/S 201 Introduction to Chicana/o Studies
- C/S 490 Advanced Seminar in Chicana/o Studies
- Language Requirement (3 hours):
- Span 201 Intermediate Spanish, or above, or an equivalent course taught in Spanish in another department. Must be taken in residence at UNM.
- Course with Chicanos/Hispanos as a Central Focus (9 hours):
- Nine hours from Listing A (below) must be distributed across three departments. At least six hours must be at 300 level or above. May include different sections of C/S 301 Topics.
- Chicano/Hispano Related Courses (6 hours):
- Six additional hours from either Course Listing A or from Course Listing B(below). May include up to three hours of Independent Study or other courses having relevant subject matter, with the approval of the Chicana/o Studies Director.
