Commencement & Convocation
All graduating students are invited to participate in University Commencement and/or the C&J Department Convocation.

University Commencement is held during the fall and spring semesters. Summer graduates who are within 6 hours of completing all required hours by the end of spring are invited to walk in spring commencement ceremonies.

C&J Department Convocation is only held in the spring. Summer graduates, and previous fall graduates, are invited to participate.

In order to sign up to participate in Commencement and/or Convocation, please visit the UNM graduation page (graduation.unm.edu). Here you will also be able to verify your diploma mailing address, and find links to information about eligibility requirements, university honors, ordering graduation regalia and announcements, etc.

C&J Spring Convocation    (May 11, 2012)
Sign-up for C&J Department Convocation will be available through May 9, 2012, at graduation.unm.edu.

The Communication and Journalism Department's Spring Convocation will be on Friday, May 11, 2012. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6 p.m. (lasting about one hour) in Woodward Hall 101 (the main auditorium). Please meet on the north side of Woodward Hall by 5:30 p.m., in cap and gown.

The ceremony will be followed by a reception on the south side of the building. All C&J faculty members will be present at the C&J convocation to congratulate graduates and meet with family members.

Close and extended family members as well as friends are welcome (up to ten total guests per graduate). Students who have signed up to participate will be provided with their guest tickets one to two weeks prior to convocation. An email will be sent to those participants when ticket pick-up is available.

Cameras and video cameras are recommended. The department will arrange to record the ceremony, and the Graduation Ceremony 2012 Video will be available for purchase for $10.
