UNM Lobo Department of Communication & Journalism

Thank you
 Alumni and
 Friends of C&J!

The Department of Communication and Journalism relies on the funding support of individuals, corporations and foundations to offer the highest quality of education to our students as well as a professional environment for faculty and staff to deliver that education. While the base funding for the department is achieved through state funding and tuition, donors provide the critical extra support needed for scholarships, internships, research, building renovations and state-of-the-art equipment.

At present the department is embarked on a major renovation of the aging C&J building, pictured above. An architectural landmark designed by the famous John Gaw Meem and built in 1948, the university has committed to modernizing the interior and dedicating more of its space to communication and journalism classes and facilities. A summary of the project is available in a PDF of the department's latest newsletter, which can be downloaded here.

Opportunities are available for classrooms, teaching positions, computer laboratories and even the entire building to be named in honor of donors.

The university's Development Office staff is available to assist any individual, corporate or foundation representative interested in donating to the C&J Department. All donations to assist in enhancing communication and journalism education at UNM are accepted through the University of New Mexico Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, which allows gifts to be fully tax deductible under current IRS guidelines.

Please access the pages in the menu to the left for information about donating to the Department of Communication and Journalism. We also would like to hear about your career and accomplishments, so please check our Alumni Class Notes page and send in an on-line alumni form.
