The editorial board will consider manuscripts on the history of
Luso-Hispano America, 1492-1821, as well as the Caribbean
and the Philippines through 1898. CLAHR also welcomes essays by
experts in other fields when they are relevant to colonial Latin American
history.
Essays should reflect original scholarly research based on primary
(archival) sources
and can be submitted in either English or Spanish. Previously published
essays will not be accepted. CLAHR is a refereed journal.
Authors must submit three hard copies of the manuscript as well as a
diskette containing the manuscript in Microsoft Word format or another
PC compatible software. The submission of rare and pertinent
illustrations, maps, and charts is also encouraged.
Manuscripts should not exceed 25-30 double-spaced pages, including
notes. Where questions of style or usage arise, refer to The Chicago
Manual of Style, 14th edition. Inclusion of a curriculum
vitae is appreciated.
