The UNM student body helped in the recovery mobilizing around the world to assist Haiti earthquake victims. Their donations helped disaster victims rebuild their lives and communities.

A UNM / New Mexican tradition lives on as student organizations gather to decorate the campus with luminarias and carol all the way to the president’s house. Our members must fold and fill over 400 bags!

Book Drive
Albuquerque Main Library holds a bi-annual book sale where everything you can fit in a brown bag cost only $3! With donations in hand we got together to purchase kids book for our literacy initiative for underachieving schools. Altogether the club purchased 15 bags of books for donation!

Trick or Treat for UNICEF
This program has volunteers trick or treating for funds to help third world countries obtain necessary supplies for survival. Our goal this year was $300 and by 10/29 of this week long project we had already collected $297. We made an additional $263 on a single day from our bake sale on 10/30. By the end of trick or treating we had made a grand total of $830! We met our goal by 287%!

Fall Rally
A weekend of service and leadership building at Kamp Kiwanis. This three day event is a great way to meet the district and new friends along with the Kiwanis. UNM had the biggest attendance with 7 members making the 3 hour trip!

Balloon Fiesta
The biggest cultural event of the year in Albuquerque. We gathered to volunteer and help run this international spectacular by selling and collecting tickets, parking cars, and much more. Our club completed 150 hours of service in one week.

Zozobra Social
This annual event takes us to Santa Fe for the burning of Old Man Gloom, a 50 foot marionette. We took the train to watch this behemoth puppet burn along with all the gloom in the world.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
A world with less breast cancer is a world with more birthdays. That world gets closer and closer at every American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. With a hundred dollar check in hand for donation, the club made a five mile walk count towards this great cause.

Store House Clothes Drive
The Storehouse has a very simple, but very difficult job; they provide free food and clothing to people struggling with poverty and for three months our clothes drive helped make it easier for this program to help our community.

International Convention
President Adrian Perez, Vice-President Ricardo Galicia, Treasurer Omar Perez, Secretary Kristin Bruner, and Kiwanis Advisor Michael Vigil represented UNM and the Southwest District as we got down with other CKI members from around the world at the 53rd Annual Circle K International Convention. We made the 500 mile trip to Denver with the most members in the district!

Fall Frenzy
The Associated Students of UNM hosts an annual community service and campus beautification event, Fall Frenzy. Fall Frenzy gives students an opportunity to participate in service projects that benefit both the UNM and Albuquerque communities.
