CommencementThe students who are eligible to participate in Commencement are those who complete their degree requirements by the end of the current semester. Other eligible students are undergraduates who lack no more than six credit hours to be completed next semester. However, the names of these students will not be published in the program. Graduate students follow the eligibility requirements set by the Office of Graduate Studies. Doctoral and MFA students who will not be completing all degree requirements by the ceremony date must complete the Request to Participate in University Commencement Ceremony form which can be downloaded from the OGS Web site at http://www.unm.edu/grad/forms/forms.html. After obtaining the necessary signatures, the form must be returned to the Office of Graduate Studies prior to the established deadlines (see form for details). For any questions regarding eligibility, please contact the OGS Advisement Coordinator at 277-2711. ConvocationConvocations are graduation ceremonies held by some schools, colleges, and/or departments just for their graduates. Please refer to the convocation schedule to determine if your school/college or department will be holding a convocation ceremony. Also, check with your advisor or convocation coordinator if you have any questions regarding individual convocation ceremonies. Students eligible to participate in convocation are those who complete their degree requirements by the end of the current semester. Exceptions to this policy are determined by each school, college, and/or department. Potential graduates should check with their advisor to determine whether or not they have met all degree requirements. | |
