Travel and Living Arrangements

Students will travel at their own expense from Albuquerque to Morelia and back by whatever means they choose.  CONEXIONES will organize small travel groups. Round trip fares range from $100 to $200 overland to as much as $400 - $1000 by air. All travel expenses during the field session are included in the CONEXIONES program fee.

Out of town participants will need to make their own living arrangements in Albuquerque.  The directors will provide information. Out-of-state students should maintain close communication with Professor Brulotte, Professor Chávez or the University Honors Program staff. In Morelia, participants will be placed with local families accustomed to boarding CONEXIONES students. (Only one student will be placed with each family.) The room and board fee for housing in Morelia (including laundry) is included in the CONEXIONES program fee.

UNM requires all students who participate in UNM Study Abroad Programs to have medical insurance. Students can use their own continuing insurance if it matches or exceeds the coverage available through UNM. Students can find study abroad insurance information and/or online enrollment at www.hthstudents.com. Students must submit proof of insurance.
