-200 BCE Romans take Cadíz after driving the Carthaginians out of Spain.
 
-155 BCE Lustianian Wars begin.  Romans invade Portugal
 
-133 BCE Celt-Iberian Wars
 
-82-72 BCE Roman Civil War
 
-75 BCE Pompey founds Pamplona
 
-61 BCE Julius Caesar begins the conquest which will ultimately lead to the entirety of the Iberian peninsula being under Roman rule.
 
-26 BCE Mérida (known as Emerita Augusta by the Romans) founded.  It becomes the capital of Lusitania.
 
-19 BCE Augustus Caesar cements the Romanization of the peninsula by finally conquering Cantabria and Asturias.
