Old Ayuntamiento

The old town hall still has the old meeting room with frescoes showing the judgement of Solomon, Guzmán the Good and coats-of-arms of old Trujillo families.The Royal jail was housed in this building from the end of the15th century. In the entance hall is a flat stone with the inscription "Totius Orbis Monarcha Carolo Inter Reges Catholico... Maximo Protestatis Invictismo Anno MDLI, in praise of the Emperor Charles V. (Lancia Publications, page 25)

The doorway on the left in the picture is the begining of the Cañón de la Carcel.
