Palacio del Marquesado de Piedras Albas

The building known as the Palace of White Stones is usually a favorite of visitors to Trujillo. On the upper level there is a covered gallery of Florentine influence. The gallery is topped with elegant Gothic ornamentation. To either side of the gallery are two windows with wrought-iron gares, which are only surpassed in artistic merit by the gate that protects the window on the midday facade. The house was built by Pedro Suárez de Toledo in the 16th century. The title of Marquis of San Juan de Piedras Albas was granted to a Pizarro -Picolomini in the 17th century.
