5305 Beginning Microsoft Windows 95

Prepare for the future with Windows 95! This 8-hour course, explaining the Windows 95 operating system, is required before taking specific Windows application courses. You will be introduced to the basic functions of Windows 95 and learn to customize its setup, create and work with shortcuts. There will be lessons on the Taskbar, Windows Explorer, and Control Panel. Additionally there will be discussions on floppy disk and hard disk file management. Applications included in the program such as WordPad and Paint will be explored. Prerequisite: Introduction to Personal Computers for Windows 95 (5300) or basic computer experience including knowledge of computer terminology and hardware/software.

You know Windows 95 is full of features for the "power user": such as properties, shortcuts, Send to, the Registry, scraps, OLE, drag & drop, and the Network Neighborhood. There’s more than meets the eye to Explorer, the Desktop, the Taskbar, and even the Start menu. Note: This is a technical course and instruction will move at a fast pace. Prerequisites: Beginning Windows 95 (5305).

Get your documents organized! In this 4-hour course you will learn how to effectively organize and manage your documents and programs, including files, folders, and disks. Topics for discussion include rules and suggestions for naming, finding, copying, deleting, renaming, and backing up your files. Emphasis will be placed on how to manage files stored on your hard disk. Prerequisite: Beginning Windows 95 (5305).
