These hands-on modules will provide an opportunity for students to integrate project management concepts using MS Project 98. The courses will use case studies to cover the Project Management Institute’s internationally recognized A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge and apply concepts directly using MS Project 98.

5560 Microsoft Project 98: Module 1

Integrate project management cocepts with the MS Project 98 computer program! Topics include Project Management Integration, Scope Management, Project Time Management. Students will use case studies to understand organizational and corporate cultural influence on the project planning process. Students will use MS Project to develop a project plan, incorporate complex relationships between tasks, and communicate results effectively. Prerequisite: Beginning Windows 95 (5305).

5561 Microsoft Project 98: Module 2

Integrate project management concepts with the MS Project 98 computer program! Topics include Project Human Resource Management, Project Communications Management, Project Quality Management. Students will use case studies to understand organizational and corporate cultural influence on the planning porcess. Students will use MS Project to develop a resource pool and assess over-applications of resources in the project plan, use costing and cost roll-up functions built into the software. Prerequisite: Project Management Information Systems: Module I(5561).

5562 Microsoft Project 98: Module 3

Integrate project management cocepts with the MS Project 98 computer program! Topics include Project Communications Management, Project Procurement Management. Students will bring together all the elements of a project plan and evaluate effective communication methodologies using the reporting tools in MS Project. Student’s will learn to exprt MS Project’s information to other applications on a web site. Procurement planning will be discussed. Students will use MS Project’s reporting tools to customize tables, filters and use Pivot Tables. Prerequisite: Project Management Information Systems: Module 2(5561).
