Research and Technology Law is a division of University Counsel Office. It also reports administratively to the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and coordinates with the Science and Technology Corporation @ UNM. The Regents, President, Vice Presidents, Deans, and Directors are authorized to seek legal service directly from the office of the University Counsel. If other members of the University community, including faculty, staff, and students, feel it would be helpful or necessary to obtain advice concerning University business, they are requested to have the request reviewed by their supervisor and forwarded to the University Counsel's Office by one of the officers listed above. University Counsel may not represent students, faculty or staff except when individuals are named as defendants in litigation arising from their official duties.
