David F. Trujillo earned his B.A (1972) and M.A. (1974) degrees in English from San Jose State University. Since then, he has undertaken graduate studies in Educational Administration at the University of Northern Colorado; Rhetoric and the Teaching of Writing at the University of Colorado at Denver; and Educational Leadership and Innovation at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Since 2005, Mr. Trujillo has served as Dean of Grants and Special Initiatives at Northern New Mexico College in Española, NM. Northern New Mexico College is a historic HSI serving a unique tri-cultural (Hispano, American Indian and Anglo). He directs Northern’s Title V Cooperative Arrangement and Title V CCRAA projects and serves on the NNMC Foundation Board of Directors.
Previously, he served as Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs at New Jersey City University; Director of Sponsored Programs and Director of Community and Special Projects at the University of Southern Colorado; Director of Development at Pueblo Community College; Assistant to the Dean, University of Colorado School of Dentistry; and Education Associate, Mid-Continent Regional Educational Laboratory. He was a publically elected member of the Pueblo (CO) Board of Water Works and a member of the Colorado Board of Social Services (appointed by Gov. Roy Romer).
