CS152L: PROJECT 1 - A FRACTACULAR TALE
It started with a vision
Three weeks later the journey began
A wise and revered prophet was discovered
The old prophet inspired
With a little razzle dazzle
A mere bush was transformed
The prophet then reflected upon his greatest tale
An attempt was made to replicate his genius work
Following such failure an exploration began deep into the mandlebrot set
Traveling inside of the fractal mysteries were revealed..WAIT WHAT IS THAT..IT'S THE GSL!!
Following a plug to the sponsors a mighty battle ensued
Alas the prophet spoke of a mighty herb with roughness unlike anyother
La romanesca de cauli of flor da lee
..but with a name like that there was only one solution
The End.
This webpage was my submission for project 1 in CS152L. I thought it would be more interesting to create comic strip than writing out 500 word essays for each picture.
There are three larger images on the web page: The_Lungs, Battle_for_Mandlebrot_Canyon, and Burning_Cauliflower that were all made using the required software; Fractal Grower, XaoS, and Chaoscope.
"The_Lungs" - I used fractal growers built in bush formula, copied it and inverted it using H instead of F. The axiom was altered as well to triple the size and give direction. To give the image a 3d perspective I made two images of the lungs with different thickness and merged them using JES.
"Battle_for_Mandlebrot_Canyon" This was made with XaoS using an incoloring mode of "potential" and a random generated color scheme. The nine spacecraft figures are from Starcraft_2 merged using JES. The border is a screencap merged using MS_paint.
"Burning_Califlower" This started with an image of a fractal cauliflower. The picture was merged using JES onto a black background. I then used five different Chaoscope formulas along with the random function to find interesting strange attractors. Using the liquid setting along with an orange-red color scheme
the images turned out looking like fire and explosions. The resulting images were merged on top of the cauliflower using JES.
mandlemerged.png was a screencap from the TED talk along with a mandlebrot set image merged using JES for the comic.
The rest of the images and software used are credited below.
