Alfred was born on Feb. 16, 1849 in Oley Twp. He farmed in Washington Twp., Berks Co., Pa. On Nov. 28, 1874, at Friedensburg, Berks Co., Pa., he married Elizabeth Henrich Moyer, born on Aug. 12, 1850. She was the daughter of Charles Reitnauer and Anna (Henrich) Moyer. They were members of the Reform Hill Church. They lived at Bechtelsville, Berks Co., Pa.

They had three children:

1. Annie Moyer, born July 30, 1877.
2. Ammon Moyer, born Aug. 8, 1881; died April 4, 1882.
3. Alfred Moyer, born April 4, 1887 in washington Twp., Berks Co., Pa.
attended public schools, Kutstown (Pa.) Keystone State Normal School
1906-07; taught 3 successive terms of 7 months each in public schools;
attended Ursinus College preparatory to entering the Central
Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Address Bechtelsville, Berks
Co., Pa.
