Daniel was born on July 16, 1823 and died on April 28, 1886 at Shanesville, Berks Co., Pa. He married Catharing Gross and they had eight children:

1. Mary Ann, who married John Cleaver of Reading, Pa. They had six
children, including and infant, surname Cleaver: Irvin, Willie,
George, Ellen, and Warren.

2. William Gross, who married Caroline Richard. They had one
daughter, Ella Amanda.

3. Sarah Gross, who married Henry Eschbach, of Reading, Pa.
They had 3 children surname Eschbach: Anna, Birdie, and Warren.

4. Jeremiah Gross, who married Lizzie Focht.

5. Daniel Gross, who married Sallie Strouse. They had two children:
Howard Strouse and Stella Strouse.

6. Jacob Gross, who married Katie Koch.
