Peter was born on Nov. 30, 1839. He was educated in the public and private schools in Earl Twp., Berks Co., Pa.
He grew to manhood on the farm and began for himself on his father's farm when 28 years old. There he lived until 1900 (with the exception of one year, 1863)...when he retired from active work and moved to Bechtelsville. He still owns the homestead of 106 acres. His present comfortable home is located on S. Main St., Bechtelsville. He is a very substantial citizen and is one of the large taxpayers of the borough. Mr. Brumbach...is very progressive and is ever ready to advance any project for the improvement of his town and county. He and his family are members of the Reformed Congregation at Hill Church, of which he was a deacon and elder many years. He was also active in the S. S. ...serving as its treasurer many years.
On Sept. 16, 1865, Mr. Brumbach married Malinda Snyder Gilbert, daughter of David and Harried (Snyder) Gilbert of Colebrookdale Twp. and grand daughter of Jacob Gilbert.
They had one daughter, Emma Gilbert, born Oct 31, 1868. She was the organist of the Hill Church choir for three years and S. S. thirteen years; member of Bechtelsville choir. She married Artemas B. Fisher, son of Nicholas Fisher of New Berlinville, Pa.; clerk in general store at Bechtelsville, Pa.
