SOME PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION

Received his B.S. in Elementary Education in 1953 from
Western New Mexico University

Received his M.S in Education in 1955
from Western New Mexico University

Received his Ed.D. in Educational Administration in 1964 from
the Unversity of Texas in Austin. His Major Professor was
Dr. Henry J. Otto.

In May of 2005 he was awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor in Humane Letters, from his Alma Mater, Western New Mexico University.

David taught and coached in the Gadsden Junior High School in Anthony, New Mexico.

He was principal of Anthony Elementary School in the
Gadsden School District in southern New Mexico.

He was an Assistant Professor of Education at
the University of Wisconsin, Madison

He was the Director of Professional Growth at
the Inter-American Educational Center in San Antonio, Texas.

David is an Emeritus Professor of Education of the University of New Mexico
having served for 25 years; 8 years as department chairperson,
and 9 years as Dean of the College of Education.

On Jan. 1, 1997 he was appointed to a six year term on
the Board of Regents of Western New Mexico University.
He was elected Chairman of the Board in December, 1998.

On Feb. 11, 1997 his appointment was confirmed by the New Mexico State Senate

His areas of interest are mathematics education,
curriculum and curriculum theory, and
computers in the educational process.

His articles have been published in The New Mexico School Review, The NEA Journal, Eduactional Leadership, the Reading Teacher, and republished in several books.

He co-authored two editions of two elementary school mathematics text books, Grade 5 and Grade 6, for the Charles Merrill Publishing Company.
