Rhonda, Tony and Diana Rose Darling's

(This page was last updated 2-28-02)

We'll start out with some pictures taken of Dianna Rose last summer. We will have some new ones to show you in a bit, but these need to be shown here so we get a picture of The Rose's development over her infant period

Don't mess with me, I'm from
Hobbs!

The Rose has developed a lot since our last update and since these pictures were taken. She now scoots along the floor, albeit in reverse. And she pulls herself up to the divan and stands. How about that!

Rhonda, Tony, and Dianna Rose were in Albuquerque for Thanksgiving and stayed in the Yates' upstairs apartment. Needless to say, Dianna Rose was the spotlight of attention even though there were four other grandchildren present who were under 5 years of age, and one 12. Now after all these years it seems that Honey and David will have a significant legacy, in numbers, at least!

Is
this really my Great Aunt, Martha? WOW! She's really nice! This brings us to February, 28, 2002. Tony, Rhonda and Dianna Rose visited the Darlings in Albuquerque the week of February 17th. Honey and David took full advantage to snap a number of photos to share with the world. Fortunately, GranMartha came up on Feb. 21 and we got to get a great picture of GranMartha and Diana Rose.

Diana Rose explored the upstairs of the house! She can really crawl! And she has a way of enticing others to join her in her floor exercises. We think she got everyone to get on the floor with her except Rhonda and Tony. She really wanted to play with Beau but, even tho Honey and Rhonda thought it would be O.K., Grandpa Darling was afraid that Beau would get too excited and scratch Diana Rose. So they only got a couple of kisses when Grandpa wasn't looking. You can see below some of her floor exercises.

I'm teaching Mare how to
crawl. Honey, you're great
fun!

The above pictures were taken in the kitchen. Rest assured, she explored the whole house. She had a great time going down the step from the hall to the living room with Grandpa, but we didn't get a picture of that. Grandpa was worried that she would fall as she negotiated the step - but her movements were cautious and precise. And she came down using several different methods - clearly experimenting to see which was the most efficient. She like the daring kind that had Grandpa kind of confused - he wanted her to find her own way but he didn't want her to get hurt. We think she could sense his apprehension and played to that!

Who's she talking to? Now THIS is the way to
sleep!!

Last but not least, we have two more photo-ops for the Darling Gallery. You can see how happy Diana Rose is as she negotiates the floor! We think she is laughing at one of Tony's jokes, but we're not sure. And Grandpa has to get into the act - he gets to do the honors of feeding Diana Rose! And she is a very good eater!

That was a good one! Gotcha!
Grandpa!

Tony and Rhonda were planning on returning to Hobb, USA on Friday but they were able to get tickets to the New Mexico Symphony who had a guest artist - a pianist - that they really wanted to see. So they decided to have a real date - their first since the arrival of Diana Rose. Honey and David were very happy to take care of the Rose while they went to the Petroleum Club for dinner and then Popejoy for the concert. They LOVE IT! Tony remarked that the first day they came to Albuquerque on this trip and were driving around in the traffic that Rhonda remarked that "We never shoul live in Albuquerque!" After the dinner/symphony date she remarked, "We must move to Albuquerque!" How about that?!

That's all for this edition of the Rhonda and Tony and Diana Rose Page.
