Wellington Brumbach, son of Isaac, was born in Oley Pa. township, March 31, 1861, and was reared a farmer. When quite young he went into the sawmill owned by his father and worked ther until he was fourteen years old, and then devoted some four years entirely to farming. After this he learned the shoe-making trade with David Diehl, and has followed this industry ever since. In 1880 he located at Friedensburg, Pa., and on Oct. 3, 1887, settled at his present place of business.

His fraternal affiliation is with the Knights of the Golden Eagle. He is a Democrat in politics. Like the other members of his family, he belongs to the Reformed Church, and since 1902 has served in the church at Friedensburg as a deacon.

On Dec. 24, 1887, Mr. Brumbach married Katie M. Rothermel, daughter of Amos and Elizabeth (Moyer) Rothermel, and they have five children:

1. Marion, born Sept. 24, 1888.
2. Florence, born Jan 18, 1892.
3. Emma, born Feb. 2, 1893.
4. Earl, born Sept. 30, 1897 and died Nov. 11. 1902.
5. William, born March 28 1900 and died May 7, 1900.
