    Topic: Classroom-based assessment: Criterion-referenced rubrics, rating scales, and checklists and curriculum-based assessment


    Class outline:
    4:20-4:30 Questions, quandaries, connundrums AND announcements:
    • Classroom/caseload learning objectives due today.
    • Your list of at least 5 diagnostic instruments that have been used with your students is due next week.
    • Person-first language is required on all assignments in Concentration I. You are also expected to use it in conversation in classes and at your school sites.
    4:30-5:00 Small group activity: 
    Compare the readings you divided among your group last week and figure out:
    • What are the principle characteristics of CBA's? What kinds of things could you measure using CBA with students with severe disabilities?
    • Share what you learned from the Pike & Saland and Tucker & Bakken articles?

    5:20-5:30 Break
    5:30-6:45 Interactive presentation: criterion-referenced assessment
    6:45-6:50 Minute paper
