Letters of Recommendations
In an effort to be fair to all students
requesting letters of recommendation, I have developed the following guidelines:
I will not provide generic letters
of recommendation or give letters to students, unless they are addressed
to a specific individual and directly attached to an application. Any requested
"to whom it may concern" letters will be sent to students’ university file.
When requesting a letter of recommendation, please provide me with the
following written information, so that I may write a personalized
and detailed letter:

Name, address, and title of person to whom
the letter should be addressed.

Reason for requesting the letter (i.e. employment,
scholarship, etc.). Please be as specific as possible.

A resume or curriculum vita, with details
about your work, extracurricular, and school activities.

A brief note reminding me of exactly how long
and under what circumstances we have had a professional relationship (i.e.
name, number, semester, and year of course(s) you took from me), and any
particular information you would like for me to include or highlight in
my letter.
