Data (Statistical) Analysis |
The purpose of data (statistical) analysis at DGR is to
provide the client with useful information from
data bases that are often extremely large and complex.
Through a process of explorative and question driven analysis employees at
DGR work with clients to provide data analyses which meet their particular
needs.
Statistical data analysis can be used to locate problem areas, measure change
over time, assess the affectiveness of programs and increase the overall
understanding of complex phenomena. The information obtained from such
analysis can have a significant effect on policy making and assessment.
DGR specializes in the analysis and management of large databases and is
equiped to deal with data in almost any format. Employees at DGR are skilled
in both descriptive and inferential statistics. Results are presented in both
tabular and graphical formats and explained in ways understandable to a variety
of audiences, including those with little or no statistical expertise.
The Statistical Analysis System (SAS) is the primary software package used for
data analysis and data management at DGR. Although other software packages such
as S-Plus and Excel are used as needed.
This WWW page provides brief descriptions of
completed and
current projects along with
a listing of technical publications.
Links to special statistically oriented studies prepared
by DGR for clients such as the
New Mexico
Traffic Safety Bureau and the
New Mexico
Health Policy Commission are also provided.
Access to some analytically oriented example SAS Macros
intended for public use will also eventually be provided.
